waxes

I got a big box of waxes from my friend dan today. I cant believe that i used up my first run of gen saddles. I have some other waxes at home and will send them off together tomorrow.


The top saddle is for a btsv. I thought that I could use a ohv saddle on a btsv case, and I could, but it would be a bunch of work, so I decided to just make some of the right ones up. i do not think these will sell, but at least kevin and Paul will have the right ones on their motors.



I am making some more squashed birds too. these are so cool, I am going to cast an aluminum pair for my 36.




Here is a 47 to 50 knob that i made a mold of.





The coin came from my friend john and is from 1936. I am going to make one of these in bronze or aluminum and put it on my bike. I have a really cool 1936 penny that i got from my friend Dave, I just am not sure where to put it yet. I am having fun decking out my 36 and tarding it up. I think there is a deck out your bike bug going around the shop. My dad and i are both going nuts on our bikes haha.

big wheeels keep on turning

My dad finished up this 51 bottom end for an old friend from sioux falls. These cases came to us this summer and the cases were beaten up quite a bit. There were a lot of cracks in the cam cavity and the right case race had spun. We got everything welded up and sorted out and now it will last a long long time.


I got a dual exhaust set upfor my 36 from my friend Tom in Michigan.This is going to be over the top

neat bike photos

Here is a neat pic of my dads original paint 37 knucklehead after we first put 18 inch wheels on it. I love this bike it is probably the nicest one that we have. the crown jewel so to speak. It is super fast. We bought it from the original owner's son.


This is my dad's 53 panhead before we put the orange sheet metal on it. I never rode it in this configuration. we were asked by mike lichter to make a replica of the chino bike from the wild one movie, so we did, then we put it back to stock and then my dad and Mike rode it across the country for the cannonball.



Here is a great pic of Bob's 47 I love this motorcycle it turned out so great and he actually rides it, which is a huge bonus for my dad and i. Ray started on a 45 transmission today. this is a greasy old thing, but not in too bad of shape.



Here is a set of flywheels for a 51 that my dad put together. the wheels are new truett and osborne wheels and are soooo nice. We put them in all of our personal bikes and on customer motors when their wheels are worn out or if they want them.




Ray set up the brake and put the wheel on for good on Randy's 52. Now I can flip it around, hook up the cables and finish the wiring. I had to take the chrome tank off of the 47 because of setting up the cables. So we put it on thisbike. I kind of think of the chrome tank as the silly hat that gets passed around for pictures at a aparty. It is a cool novelty with out a doubt. I can't wait to see my dad's 53 all chromed out.

1946 and 1947 wiring flags.

This morning I used up the last terminal that i had bent up. I bent up 150 of these terminals six months ago and thought they would last me forever, i was mistaken. Luckily i had another 150 blanks cut out. These terminals were primarily used on 46 and 47 hds. they are bitchin and just like originals.


anyways, I was completely out of bent up ones and had to make some for the 47 and to fill some orders of different guys working on their own restorals. Here is the tool to do it. check out how the two separate diameters on the pin share a common line.



and here is a finished one. It is very tedious to make each one of these little guys, but I am glad that i do it and happy that our customers appreciate the work.

I installed the rebuilt 32e generator from Dale Cashman this morning. Here is a neat pic of it all wired up. 47 was the first year for a green gen to relay wire.



and a shot from the other side. this all looks nice. I will be setting up handlebar controls shortly.

Ray made some great progress on the 52 today, the fender and handlbars are on for good! should have the front brake and wheel on tomorrow! wooo hooo!




after everybody left the shop my dad and I put the chrome tank on andy's bike to see what it would look like. I think it looks pretty amazing, but i have had a chrome tank fetish lately. What do you think andy? it isn't to late to send your 47 tanks to the plater. haha.
