Here is the front motor mount on Paul's 37 frame, it is a new vtwin mount which is a forging and tough as nails.   The dimensions are all corect, but the aesthetics are off.   Sometimes you run into an issue like this, where you have a nice reproduction part that is functional but needs a few features tweaked to make it look more like the original.   In this pic, the mount has already been welded to the  frame with steel filler rod, the first pass of sillicone bronze rod is already on, and I have to make a few more so that there is something for Jesse to file off.

 Here is the nearly finished mount.  1936 and 1937 frames have brazed front motor mounts, so there wont be any welding on this one.  I still have to put a couple tacks on the added mount to make it look authentic.  This is a lot of work, but it turned out really nice.

 This is a similar problem,  This frame is for Doug's 39,   some chopper momo  ground these lips off of the casting.

This is the rear fender mount,  you can see that the horn button looking joint cups got sanded down,  this was definitely done to make somebody's bike more custom back in the day

 Here they are all done.   They are only tacked on the bottom of the frame on frames from 1936 to 1946. This is a lot of work, but its worth the effort.

Here is dougs frame all done.  It has new bottom rails, original loops installed and a new seat post and brake cross over shaft.   This is the frame that was in the jig during my wedding for those of you that came.

Pete's cam cover showed up for his 40 motor today. It came packed with a couple of old shirts to prevent it from getting scratched.
oh cool the shirts kind of fit. they don't look as good as the cam cover and Pete's 40 cases.

Dan and I laced up a bunch of wheels yesterday. the shiny set is for Pete's 46, and the other ones are for original paint or funky bikes. We are going to do another batch in april for two sidecar bikes! which is nuts.
I know it is kind of over kill to paint the inside of the 65 primaries with Dolph's er44, but I like overkilling things.
Here are all the parts that we are sorting out for the 38 clutch and the 45 wl clutch set ups.
Here is the motor/ trans mount for Doug's 39 it has the big numbers still and the early wrap around reinforcement with smooth seat post. later 39s had the small numbers, later wrap around reinforcement and a relief for the big 74inch motor that was supposed to come out in 40 but didn't meet the deadline.
These wheels are for our 40 el and Delmar's 45 EL. They are kind of funky, but will look nice once the bikes are together.

Here is the picture that I have been thinking about for the last week. Three 39 EL Motors, a 38 and a 46. These things are so nice. I love seeing them all lined up. This is the biggest batch of 37-30 cam cover motors that we have had finished at one time.

Brittney and I cruised down south to the Klockworks party in Mitchell with my dad, sister, Chuck and Larry. It was an alright time. I enjoyed the ride there and back. I have not ridden my 36 since returning from our midwest tour a week ago. I was having problems with a dirty fuel filter. I cleaned it out a couple of times and it still seems to be clogged up a little bit. I will pull the carb tomorrow and clean everything out.

We got back from riding sometime around eleven, so I put Jim's 39 motor in to make up for the six hours I spent riding bikes. This frame required no shims on the front motor mount. I love it when things work out that nicely. It must be beginners luck

hubs and tanks and all the good things in life

Check out the nos victory tank emblem gaskets. These are so damn cool. I have a pretty good stash of nos ones, but eventually I will have to make up some victory stamps and stamp my own.

It is starting to look like an actual bike.

woo hoo. I got some stepped hubs back from Lee today. We send them off to be hard chromed, then ground back down to standard size. I did this on my 36 hubs and they have held up really well. They are good for at least 95 mph.

This is the hot set up. Now we just have to metal finish the hub and take them over to get painted.

plating etc

A box full of nickle plating showed up today from our friend Doug! This stuff looks so good. Most of the 36 to 39 manifolds are reproduction ones that we make.


These are for the 47 bobber that we are building for Glenn. I pre polished some spots on them, and as soon as i hit the areas with a little bit of compound, these will glow!



HEre are some of the carbs that got plated. Pretty cool stuff!




Ray is still prefitting all the stuff that goes on the 65. It is coming along well, the fender tips and tail light were repro on the bike. I found an original tail light and rear fender tip, but still need an og frong tip.
