My dad, Brittney and I spent the day getting ready for the first AMCA National Meet in Fremont Nebraska this weekend. We are taking Jim's 39 and John's 48 and a few parts orders!!!!. I am so excited to see all of my friends. AMCA people are the best. Hope to see you guys there!

HEre is the detailed out 48, man this bike is spot on. Miss Brittney did an amazing job detailing it out. My dad signed up to help the AMCA out and be the chief judge for a one year trial basis. He will be doing a judging seminar with Assistant Chief Judge Don D on friday. They are going to use this bike. It is the perfect bike, if you would like to learn more about old bikes and are attending fremont, come and hang out, it is going to be a blast.

John's 48 wiring

I spent the morning at the chiropractor and wiring up the fender on John's 48. There are a lot of twists and turns in the fender, so it is easier to just put one wire through at first.

With the one wire through, you can solder the tail light and brake light wire to the wire going through the fender and then pull both of them through.

Here is the finished product after a bit of pulling and pushing.

We pulled john's 48 out to fit the rear fender today. I bolted on the freshly painted primary cover and oil tank.

Here are some of the pieces for mounting the rear fender.

My batch of center baffles for my muffler project showed up. unfortunately they are 1.756 rather than 1.750, so I have to run them through a center less grinder to get them down to size. They have a .040 wall thickness, so the extra grinding operation won't have an affect on the strength of the material.

Here are standard reproduction lower horn mounts. They are parkerized. Originals were not parkerized.

So I blasted them and blued them with gun bluing, then shellacked them. The bottom one is dry, the top one is still drying. This works well and makes the parts exactly like originals.

Woo hoo, we got some fenders ready for fitting today. the front one is for John's 48 and the rear one is for Ed's 55. Next week I can get these two bikes off for paint!!!!!!!


I have been working away on fitting all of this goo gaw stuff on Jason's 65. There are so many rails, bumpers and ornate details on this thing. What a bunch of extra weight It is a real challenge. But i Like it. I should have it tore down for paint and chrome tonight sometime.
